Description

TimeGivers - Connecting Children & Young People To Their Community Through Volunteering
TimeGivers is a West London based charity that partners with schools to integrate volunteering into education, empowering children and young people (aged 4-18) to engage with their local communities and develop purpose-driven and practical skills.
Our Vision:
A world where all children and young people have access to enriching volunteering opportunities to help them and their communities grow.
Our Mission:
To create enriching volunteering experiences for children, which offer the greatest impact on them and their community, inspiring a lifetime of giving by helping people and the planet.
Our Approach:
Working with schools, we empower the young generation to voice the changes they wish to see in their communities. TimeGivers then forges partnerships with surrounding charities and organises volunteering events where children can actively enact that change.
Our events focus on 3 key pillars of change:
- Crisis Relief
- The Environment
- Social Inclusion
We need Adult Volunteers to help us! Adult Volunteers can support a wide variety of fun and meaningful 'Giving Back' activities/events during school hours, including, for example:
Arts and Crafts
- Helping primary school students create decorations for local care homes
Cooking and Baking
- Supporting secondary school students to make nutritious meals for a community kitchen
Environmental
- Helping students regenerate their school's green spaces or doing a litter pick in the community
Location:
All volunteer opportunities currently take place in West London (but we have future plans to expand across all of London!).
Depending on the school and activity you are supporting (either on a one-off event or a series of weekly clubs), the location will vary.
You will be given exact location details prior to taking part in a volunteering activity.
Time Commitment:
We need Adult Volunteers during School Term Time (Winter, Spring and Summer), Monday-Friday (within school hours, for 1-3 hours).
Adult Volunteers are welcome to choose from supporting TimeGivers for a one-off event, or being a more regular volunteer (e.g. supporting a weekly club for 4-6 weeks consecutively).
We also run volunteering activities for children during School Holidays where we sometimes need Adult Volunteers to support us.
About you:
All we ask is that our Adult Volunteers enjoy working with children and are reliable, helpful, kind and enthusiastic!
It’s great if Adult Volunteers have a skill / enjoy doing activities like arts and crafts, cooking and baking, gardening, sewing, creative writing, woodwork/DIY that is useful to TimeGivers, but it is not a requirement!
Most of our volunteering activities last between 1 hour and 3 hours, and Adult Volunteers will be on their feet for a lot of the time, so a reasonable level of fitness is needed.
