Handel Hendrix House is a museum that celebrates the lives of two musical legends, George Frideric Handel and Jimi Hendrix, through their historic homes in central London. Handel lived at 25 Brook Street from 1723 to 1759, where he composed some of his greatest works, including Messiah. Jimi Hendrix lived at the adjacent flat at 23 Brook Street in the late 1960s, where he rehearsed, entertained friends, and gave interviews.
The museum offers a rare glimpse into their lives, featuring restored rooms and exhibitions that explore their legacies, influences, and creative processes. Visitors can experience the spaces where both musicians lived and worked, including newly developed areas that showcase Hendrix’s legacy and the historical significance of their residences.
Our mission is to preserve and present these homes, sharing the stories, music, and lives of Handel and Hendrix as a source of inspiration and learning for all. As a charity and accredited museum, we offer a vibrant programme of events, performances, and exhibitions.
Values: We honour the heritage of Handel and Hendrix, treating every visitor as a valued guest. Through music, art, and research, we bring their stories to life while ensuring the long-term future of the museum. Our commitment to inclusivity, innovation, and sustainability guides everything we do.
