Advantages of Age works with those aged 50-75 years through hosting a range of activities and online resources with the aim of building resilience, alleviating loneliness and providing "olders' with a sense of purpose and belonging. These activities include a business club for over 50s who may be seeking to transition their career as a result of being made unemployed or who need help with their existing business. This is currently being run from the Charing Cross Library monthly.
Our Facebook group of over 3.5k hosts lively discussions about ageing and is a resource for those seeking positive messages by featuring first-person stories about getting older. It's members regularly organise activities amongst themselves.
The Advantages of Age website has been referenced by psychotherapists seeking to help their patients adjust to getting older and features first-person stories written exclusively for the site as well as articles curated from reputable third-party sources.
