Potential Plus UK

Description

Potential Plus UK is a national charity whose aim is to help parents discover and nurture their child’s amazing talents and abilities to help them succeed. These high potential learners include children who:
• need more challenge in their work
• are clever but have a Special Education Need (autism, dyslexia, ADHD etc) where we support their potential
• are bright but are underachieving at school or have issues at home
• are from low income families who are struggling to understand their child
Our aim is to remove the barriers preventing children's potential from being achieved. We do this by supporting the social, emotional and learning needs of these children by:
• providing a Helpline to advise parents in how to support their child;
• providing specialist advice on a range of issues from working positively with schools to mental health issues;
• running a Child Centred Assessment Service to give parents an action plan based on a real understanding of their child’s potential;
• producing E-Zines for children in pre-school, primary school and secondary school as well as articles and advice sheets for parents;
• running workshops for parents and professionals
• running events for families
We are a membership organisation with a community of parents and carers who support each other for the benefit of their child.
