Hear Women’s mission is to improve the mental health a wellbeing among black and minority ethnic (BME) underprivileged communities in RBKC, especially among women with long term anxiety and depression or other metal health conditions. Hear Women is formed and run by women from BME background. Over the decade of our existence we have gained the trust of BME communities; they turn to us for advice over health, welfare and recommendations for living in the UK.
Hear Women was set up in 2008 to support women and children from refugee and migrant communities and to provide them with tools to become self-reliant and independent and lead a fulfilling life in their communities in London and Internationally. The Foundation became a registered charity in 2010 and holds a special consultative status with UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). The organization has won many awards including Women on the Move Award, Westminster Community Award and in 2018 Hear Women has gain level 1 PQASSO Quality Mark. In 2017, and after the tragic incident of the Grenfell tower, Hear Women work was recognized by HRH Prince Harry for the excellent intervention that organisation has done from day one of the tragedy. Moreover, Hear Women was the only official organisation which the foreign and Commonwealth office commissioned to organise Women conference alongside the International conference for Somali that was held in London 2017 in London.
