Description

Welcome to West London Synagogue. We are the UK’s flagship Reform Synagogue. Based in the heart of London, we are a welcoming, inter-generational and inclusive centre of Jewish life. We are proud of our diverse forms of worship, our progressive values, our quest for learning, our commitment to Tikkun Olam (repairing the world), our musical heritage and our 175 years of tradition.
Members of West London Synagogue express our Jewish values not only by joining for communal worship and study, but also by engaging in work which will improve life for those outside our immediate community. Social action is a defining aspect of life at West London Synagogue, and many of our members, from religion school students through those who have celebrated their children’s or grandchildren’s bar or bat mitzvahs here, contribute to these efforts. We choose our Social Action schemes by consulting knowledgeable neighbours about unmet needs in the area. Responding to current needs, we have established a monthly drop-in centre for destitute asylum seekers, a Refugee Employment Resource Centre, joined the Westminster winter night shelter for the homeless, set-up Marylebone FoodCycle, and a number of other projects to support vulnerable people living in the area.
