A new grant is available from 8th July for Westminster’s small and medium businesses, organisations and landlords to implement quick, energy saving retrofits and solution. These grants are part of Westminster’s efforts to reduce city wide carbon emissions while helping our organisations cut down their energy bills, and will include getting a free bespoke ‘Energy Savings Plan’, and funding toward items such as pipe and draught insulation, LED lightbulb upgrades, hand dryer upgrades, electrification of kitchens and more.
The programme is run in three easy steps:
1. Getting Your Energy Savings Plan
Receive a free ‘Energy Savings Plan: Carbon and Energy Assessment’ from GEP Environmental.
2. Applying for the Energy Efficiency Grant
Using your ‘Energy Reduction Plan’ recommendations get up to £10,000 (£20,000 for social enterprise and charities serving Westminster residents) to deliver carbon emission reduction retrofits.
3. Reducing Your Bills
With your works done your premises will benefit from reduced energy use and carbon emissions. Businesses with 10 or fewer staff will also be invited to join and benefit from Westminster City Council’s Sustainable Business Charter.
Morgan Hannan will outline the funding guidelines for this new funding opportunity. This online session will consist of a presentation from the funder, followed by a Q&A.
